Prog-Watch 224

by The Prog Squatch | A.C.T & Kaipa

This week the Son Of Prog-Squatch, Paul Rowsick, sits in again for a look at two more great Swedish bands! One of them is a newer group called A.C.T who play an energetic, guitar and keyboard driven brand of Prog with lush vocals that sometimes draw comparisons to Queen! The second band is a legendary seventies group recently reborn, called Kaipa! This group helped put the great Roine Stolt (of the Flower Kings, Transatlantic, the Tangent, etc.) on the Prog world map!

A.C.T is a very popular and well-known modern progressive rock band from Sweden, formed in 1999.

In their early years, KAIPA was one of Sweden’s best Symphonic Prog bands, and put the great Roine Stolt on the map! After 20 years of silence, they reformed in the early part of this century and have been making albums since.
