Prog-Watch 226

by The Prog Squatch | Soul Secret & Marillion

Terry’s back this week, and he and the Squatch begin things with a look at a heavy Prog band called Soul Secret from Italy! We get to hear music from their latest two albums, and some interview material from keyboardist Luca Di Gennaro! Next up, Terry gets his geek on as the guys cover one of his first and all-time favorite Prog bands, the legendary Marillion! Their coverage starts at the beginning of the Steve Hogarth era, but don’t worry, I’m sure there will be some Fish era material played at some point on Prog-Watch (both eras are SO good)!

Soul Secret is an Italian progressive metal band that formed in 2004.

Marillion was one of the first in the new wave of Neo-Prog bands in the early 1980s. Their recorded output is generally regarded in two distinct eras, delineated by the departure of original frontman Fish in late 1988, and the subsequent arrival of replacement Steve Hogarth in early 1989. (Above is a recent photo of the Hogarth era Marillion.)
