This week on Prog-Watch my special guest is Simon Godfrey of Tinyfish, Valdez & Shineback! Hear some of my chat with the always-entertaining Simon, plus music from all of his bands, including several from the new Shineback album “Dial”!

Simon Godfrey is a songwriter, producer and vocalist from London England. Although making music for most of his adult life, it took a decade of unknown work as an amateur songwriter and session musician before he found commercial success.

The first taste of wider musical acclaim came through the band Tinyfish, who released three studio albums; Tinyfish, Curious Things and The Big Red Spark, a live DVD recording in Poland, One Night On Fire and toured the world until the band split 2012.

In 2013, Simon signed a solo contract with Bad Elephant Music (BEM). Since joining BEM, Simon has released a number of albums and EPs under the name Shineback, including the debut, Rise Up Forgotten, Return Destroyed, an EP entitled Minotaur, and the latest release Dial. Simon has also released albums for BEM under his own name (Motherland and several Black Bag Archive releases) and as a member of his band Valdez (This!).

In 2014, Simon left his home town of London, England to work full time in the United States of America. From his production office (Duckland Studio), Simon undertakes third party video and audio editing work and writes a music column for Classic Rock Magazine. He lives in Philadelphia. Pennsylvania with his wife, Stacy, and the world’s slowest Greyhound, Dora.
