(Somebody pinch me so that I know that I’m not dreaming as I type this! OW! Thanks, Mrs. Progsquatch!)

This week on Prog-Watch my very special guest is the legendary keyboardist, composer, and vocalist Rod Argent! Rod rose to fame with The Zombies, and was recently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame as a member of that seminal band! After the Zombies disbanded in the late 1960s, he enjoyed much success with his own band Argent and with various solo albums and collaborations, before getting back together with Colin Blunstone and reforming The Zombies for a new century! Tune in to hear much of my chat with Rod, and a lot of great Zombies, Argent, and solo Rod Argent music!

Rodney Terence “Rod” Argent (born 14 June 1945) is an English musician, singer, composer, and record producer. In a career spanning more than 50 years, Argent came to prominence in the mid 1960s as the founder and keyboardist of the English rock band The Zombies, and went on to form the band Argent after the first break-up of The Zombies. In the early part of this century Rod and Colin Blunstone reformed The Zombies, and the group continues to perform and record to this day.

In addition to his work with The Zombies and Argent, Argent has made music for television series, been a session musician, produced albums by other artists, and has had a solo career which has included three studio albums: “Moving Home”, “Red House”, and “Classically Speaking.” Argent was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Zombies in Brooklyn in March 2019.
