I’m doing another of my band family tree explorations on Prog-Watch this week and my subject is the British band IQ! I’ll be spinning a few brand new tunes from the band’s latest double album, Resistance, and exploring their roots and branches in the music of The Lens, Niadem’s Ghost, Jadis, and Martin Orford!

IQ are a British neo-progressive rock band founded by Mike Holmes and Martin Orford in 1981 following the dissolution of their original band The Lens. Despite several line up changes, IQ have built up a loyal following over the years and are still active as of 2019, currently with the original recording lineup (with the exception of original member Martin Orford). That line up includes Peter Nicholls (vocals), Mike Holmes (guitar), Neil Durant (keyboards), Paul Cook (drums), and Tim Esau (bass). The band still performs occasionally and has just released their twelfth studio album, Resistance.
