Prog-Watch 511
This week on Prog-Watch my special guest is none other than Nick Barrett…founder, composer, guitarist and vocalist for the classic UK band Pendragon! The band is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year, so Nick and I had plenty to talk about! With such a vast back catalog of great music from which to choose, I also had no problem selecting great tunes to spin along the way!
Pendragon are an English neo-progressive rock band established in 1978 in Stroud, Gloucestershire as Zeus Pendragon by guitarist and vocalist Nick Barrett. The Zeus was dropped before the band started recording as the members decided it was too long to look good on a T-shirt! There were a few personnel changes in the early days, but since 1986 the core lineup has remained relatively stable. Current members include Barrett (guitar and vocals), Clive Nolan (keyboards), Peter Gee (bass) and Jan-Vincent Velazco (drums). This year the band are celebrating their 40th anniversary with a series of special gigs planned to take place in the UK later in the year. (You can hear more about that from Nick in the program!)
