This week on Prog-Watch I’m chatting with the talented and prolific Andrew Colyer! Aside from his work with his own band Circuline, Andrew has guested on many side projects, released solo piano albums, and done soundtrack work, as well. He will also be touring later this year with Robert Berry in the live band for Robert’s 3.2 project. Andrew and I talked about all of this and more, and in this week’s program you can hear some of our chat. Of course there will also be a boatload of great music from Circuline, his solo piano albums and soundtracks, and a project called The Prog Rock Orchestra! I hope you will join us!

Andrew Colyer has played piano, keyboards, trumpet, and sung across the United States, England, Canada, and Japan. His classical training includes the renown Juilliard School, and his teaching lineage places him five steps down from Beethoven. He has performed and collaborated with notable musicians such as Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), Jon Anderson (Yes), Sound of Contact featuring Simon Collins, Cell15, the Prog Rock Orchestra, and his own band Circuline. Andrew has also composed original music for commercial radio, video, and film, and he performed on a Moody Blues Cruise, the Yes-headlining Cruise To The Edge, and the International Rite of Spring Festival (RoSfest). It was recently announced that he will be performing with Robert Berry in Robert’s Live incarnation of 3.2, where Andrew will be playing keyboard parts originally composed and played by Prog Rock legend Keith Emerson.
