On this week’s Prog-Watch I’m finishing up my coverage of composer and keyboard wizard Andrew Colyer (which began in Prog-Watch 314)! Andrew and I chat about many of his side projects, his upcoming tour with Robert Berry’s 3.2, and what’s next for his main band Circuline! Along the way there will be plenty of great music from Circuline, Andrew’s solo and soundtrack work, and one from an album he did with the band Cell 15!

Andrew Colyer has played piano, keyboards, trumpet, and sung across the United States, England, Canada, and Japan. His classical training includes the renown Juilliard School, and his teaching lineage places him five steps down from Beethoven. He has performed and collaborated with notable musicians such as Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel, King Crimson), Jon Anderson (Yes), Sound of Contact featuring Simon Collins, Cell15, the Prog Rock Orchestra, and his own band Circuline. Andrew has also composed original music for commercial radio, video, and film, and he performed on a Moody Blues Cruise, the Yes-headlining Cruise To The Edge, and the International Rite of Spring Festival (RoSfest). It was recently announced that he will be performing with Robert Berry in Robert’s Live incarnation of 3.2, where Andrew will be playing keyboard parts originally composed and played by Prog Rock legend Keith Emerson.
